I’m David Jones, a Marine Corps veteran raised in Cary, NC, and a long-time graphic artist. Recently, I’ve ventured into the world of sculpture, using my background in composition to guide my creative process.

I generally work with raw materials like stone, wood, and glass, blending them with refined techniques to create hand-finished sculptures that balance natural elements and craftsmanship. My art explores how human activity intersects with natural cycles, highlighting the ways we influence, and are influenced by nature’s rhythms. (Which is a very fancy way of saying I take inspiration from everyday life!) Though relatively new to sculpture, I’m dedicated to creating pieces that transform natural materials into thoughtfully crafted works that reflect these patterns.

I also have a deep appreciation for kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery, as it reminds me that everyday things can be made more beautiful with care and attention.
